Course General objective/ Competences to be acquired

At the end of this full course, trainees will be able to:
• Acquire knowledge that allows them to know the craniofacial growth;
• Recognize how to prevent and treat malocclusions early, using functional orthopedic techniques and the respective appliances;
• Recognize the principles, characteristics and mechanisms of action of functional orthopedic appliances.

Educational Strategic Objective:

At the end of this full course, trainees will be able to:
• Recognize the advantages of treating malocclusions early;
• Identify the principles, characteristics and mechanisms of action of functional orthopedic appliances, according to FJO;
• Recognize the philosophy of Neuro-occlusal Rehabilitation by Planas, according to FJO;
• Recognize the Planas Laws of Growth and Development of the Stomatognathic System;
• Identify the preventive methods of malocclusions, according to FJO;
• Recognize the appliances indicated for the treatment of each type of malocclusion, according to FJO.
