Course General objective:

At the end of training, the trainee will be able to:
• Enable the professional to work at the noble level of prevention of malocclusion, through the making of the Planas Direct Tracks with scientific knowledge based on the fundamental principles of Functional Jaw Orthopedics and on the Planas’ Laws of Development.
• Acquire competence in the definition, indication and construction of the Planas Direct Tracks for all types of malocclusion, based on scientific knowledge of the principles and laws of the FJO.

Educational Strategic Objective:

At the end of training, the trainee will be able to:
• Know the history of the FJO and how the reasoning employed by Master Planas led him to come up with the idealization and creation of the Technique of the Direct Tracks;
• As it is a methodology used only in primary dentition, we will discuss the Therapeutic Techniques employed by NOR in the first dentition;
• Minimum necessary knowledge of the Planas’ Laws of Maxillomandibular Development, a basic condition in the planning and preparation of the Planas Direct Tracks;
• Definition of the therapy through the Planas Direct Tracks;
• Notions of Deciduous and Mixed Occlusions: the ideal time for intervention with the Planas Direct Tracks;
• Necessary care in the preparation of the Oral Environment to receive the Planas Direct Tracks;
• Indication and performance of the Planas Direct Tracks in transverse changes: posterior uni and bilateral cross bites;
• Indication and performance of the Planas Direct Tracks in sagittal changes: situations of distocclusions, mesioclusions and anterior crossbites;
• Indication and performance of the Planas Direct Tracks in vertical changes: in situations of overbite and open bites;
• Sequence and protocol for making the different types of Direct Tracks;
• Clinical cases.
