Mod.1 – Functional Jaw Orthopedic Principles, Action Mechanisms and Physiologic Bases. Craniofacial Growth. Neuro-oclusal Rehabilitation Philosophy

Mod.2 – Malocclusion etiology and prevention. Malocclusion Prevention and treatment according FJO. Diagnosis and Prognosis in Functional Jaw Orthopedics.

Mod.3 – Functional Orthopaedic Appliances: Indirect Simples Planas Tracks, Indirect Composta Planas Tracks, Indirect Special Tracks. Direct tracks.*

Mod.4 – Functional Orthopaedic Appliances: Simões Network 2, 3 and 6.*

Mod.5 – Functional Orthopaedic Appliances: Bimler A, Bimler C, Simões Network 1, 4*

Mod.6 – Functional Orthopaedic Appliances: Simões Network 7, 8, 9.*

Mod.7 – Functional Orthopaedic Appliances: Simões Network 10, 11, 12.*

Objetives:

 

  1. Assume Functional Jaw Orthopedics as a specialty that diagnoses, prevents and treats malocclusions and temporomandibular dysfunction;
  2.  Recognize the importance of treating malocclusions in a multidisciplinary concept;
  3.  Acquire in-depth knowledge to diagnose, prevent and treat malocclusions;
  4. Apply functional orthopedic techniques and their respective appliances in the treatment of malocclusions;
  5. Obtain knowledge to diagnose, prevent and treat malocclusions;
  6.  Obtain knowledge that allows to treat temporomandibular pain and dysfunction;
  7. Apply functional orthopedic techniques and their respective appliances in the treatment of malocclusions;
  8.  Recognize the importance of treating malocclusions in a multidisciplinary concept;
  9. Correctly identify the principles, characteristics and mechanisms of action of functional appliances;
  10. Carry out a correct diagnosis of the case through the specific diagnostic methods in Functional Jaw Orthopedics;
  11. Correctly identify the preventive methods of malocclusion;
  12. Through the analysis of clinical cases, correctly identify which appliances are indicated for treatment of each type of malocclusion;
  13.  Identify the main appliances used in the treatment of temporomandibular pain and dysfunction;
  14. Properly prepare a prescription for an appliance;
  15. Identify correctly, at least 4 professionals involved in the multidisciplinary treatment of malocclusions.

To complement your training, we have designed for you 3 mandatory classroom modules at our institute.

Developed exclusively for the e-learning trainees, these 3 modules have a theoretical part with the synthesis of the subjects addressed in the e-learning modules, the clarification of doubts and seminars with the trainees’ clinical cases, as well as a practical part with the colocation and activation of the appliances in patients.
