Course General objective
At the end of training, the trainee will be able to:
• Recognize the dynamics between Functional Jaw Orthopedics and Speech Therapy;
• Know Speech Therapy and Functional Jaw Orthopedics as specialties that diagnose, prevent and intervene in malocclusions;
• To teach myofunctional techniques for intervention in functional jaw orthopedics cases.
Educational Strategic Objective:
At the end of training, the trainee will be able to:
• Know and evaluate the interaction of orofacial structures (form) and stomatognathic functions (function), in order to define a correct diagnosis and the appropriate moment of the therapeutic intervention;
• Develop a dynamic and interactive approach between ST and FJO, identifying and avoiding complications or relapses in treatment, thus promoting therapeutic success.
